To visualize the waveform of the output signal of the PPS, its electrical part is connected to an oscilloscope and the mechanical part is connected to the system the technician is testing. The oscilloscope will show in real-time the work of the valves, cylinders, injectors and by synchronizing to a known cylinder the user can identify cylinder-specific problems. The technician can therefore quickly and accurately determine the actual condition of the engine. The Pressure Pulse Sensor does not require a additional external power supply and it can be used with most modern digital storage oscilloscopes.
